Sandbach 15 - Wilmslow 13 Sat 18 September 99 Sandbach won a match they should have won more comfortably, but could also have lost. Playing against a strong wind in the first half, they limited Wilmslow to two penalties. In the second half, the forwards slowly gained dominance and a push-over try followed. A penalty gave Sandbach a greater lead, but other chances were thrown away. In large part this was owing to the presence of players who had not played for some while and will take a few matches to regain their sharpness. An unexpected break-away gave back the lead to Wilmslow, but a further try assured victory for Sandbach.
