Stockport Festival 3rd October 2004

A strong squad travelled to Stockport to compete in their first festival of the season using their new contact skills. Sandbach were able to field a full team of 14 but were also able to field a further 13 players, following the late withdrawal of a team from Lymm, to join a few Stockport players and create a ‘Sale Sharks’ team for the day.

Sale Sharks: James Barry, Max Bonar-Law, Robert Coggon Daniel Powell, Jake Harrison, Joseph Jackson, Joe Stock ,Thomas Stakes, Stephen Lynch, Loucas Thomas-Garrett, Danny Owen, Jake Armitage, Anthony Dowell

The format for the day was a round robin, playing 5 games.

Overall, on the day we saw some great running rugby and fantastic defence. Clearly we have lots to learn this year, but a days rugby like this was extremely beneficial for all players and coaches.
