Quarter 2: Sandbach 15 Newcastle 5
Try scorers: Jake Harrison (2), George Beal

Jake Harrison set up the second try with a run from his own line, followed by some great rucking and support play from Nathan Norwood, enabling George Beal to score in the corner. Newcastle displayed some good running and passing skills but after a period of pressure from Sandbach Jake Harrison scored, but Newcastle responded immediately with a try. Jake then went over the line again for his second of the day.

Quarter 3: Sandbach 20 Newcastle 5
Try scorer: Dominic Evans, Charlie Rogerson (2), Stephen Lynch

The third quarter saw Newcastle with all the possession but Dominic Evans managed to get the first try against the run of play after stealing a ball immediately following a line out to score. Newcastle continued the pressure and this time it paid off. Following the Newcastle try, Sandbach came alive and through pace and sheer determination scored 3 tries in quick succession.

Quarter 4: Sandbach 5 Newcastle 5
Try scorer: George Beal

This final quarter saw both teams fighting hard for dominance. Sandbach took the first blood with a try from George Beal but Newcastle scored shortly after continued pressure on our line. A try-saving tackle from Kieran Leese kept Newcastle at bay in the final minutes.

Despite the terrible pitch conditions, both teams played some excellent and very enjoyable rugby.
