There's no doubt that Sale had learnt their lesson from the previous week when 'Bach had managed to despatch the rich kids from Heywood Road with little difficulty.
This week however, on a freezing day in Carrington, Sale made a few team changes and in the end were deserved winners. The Sale scrummage came out of the blocks from the whistle, with a powerful display in the loose and a very powerful set scrum.
In the final analysis though it was perhaps the Sandbach lineout that was their achilles heel losing nearly 60% of their own ball. In a game as close as this those stats are unsurviveable. Despite this the Bach back row of Eggy, Wal and Ali-B were outstanding making big hits and breaks all across the park.
Ibiza at full back was rock solid under the high ball and always made good yards on his return. Bogger had a very solid game at 10, with some astute kicking and penetrating runs.
Sandbach Scorers; the lightning fast Rusty Dymond and quicksilver George Oakey, both took their opportunities well although Dymo's liitle legs haven't peddled that fast for a good while. A final mention to youngsters Zac Jones, Lewis Stenson and Joe Jackson, who came on as substitutes and delivered excellent work against a strong, physical team.
The good news is that this result doesn't affect the Bach League position.
Next weekend the Twos make a trip to Sunny Widnes for a 3.00pm KO
