Whitchurch 10 - Sandbach 10 |
Sun 3 December 2000
Regular readers of this page will have noticed the absence of reports for the last two matches. I'll leave you to create a scoreline of your choosing. Suffice it to say that the scoreline doesn't matter ! Sandbach suffered a lack of confidence in the tackling department and, its fair to say suffered accordingly.
HOWEVER, in Whitchurch we came up against a team of similar stature and competence as ourselves, and showed that we could play as a team, pass and crucially, tackle.
The lay off last week seems to have been a useful tactic, as the lads all appeared to be full of energy, and more importantly the team began to show the missing element - aggrrrrression !!
Score 70 to Nil
This warm up game led us into the match with a rusty Shrewsbury, who sadly for them were the first to face a Sandbach team fuly beginning to put together good play, strong tackling and the aforementioned aggrrrression. The conditions were perfect for the type of rugby we hope the team can continue to produce, now that they have the confidence to get stuck in!
