First half
After an intensive training session, suffering from the depletion of numbers, it was kick off time against Stockport RUFC, Sandbach U12s captained by Rai Bennett. Some strong rucking and good all round play from Sandbach, was countered by a great steal by Matty Murray playing for Stockport.
Good scrummaging from both sides with both having a great push. Jack Irving taking a nasty knock to the head in a ruck before some great territory gained from a kick from Rai Bennett. The first try scored by Jimmy Bebbington and Kyran Davies converted it to make it seven nil to Sandbach
HALF TIME 7-0
Second half
The second half started with a great charge by Jimmy Bebbington. Some great defence including a key tackle by Kyran Davies, but then Stockport found the break through and the try was converted to make it 7-7. Rai Bennett played some clever kicks in the first and second half.
Sandbach and Stockport were very even at the scrums also some great passing and play from the backs, with Sandbach having a try held up - but still very close. Some great tackles by Sandbach. Some nice play by Danny Jakeman – although some of the forwards began not making it to all of the break downs.
Sandbach then held up another try, but on the last play kicking it into touch.
Full time 7-7 a great performance all round by both teams

Match Two
Luke Graveson captaining Sandbach. Great play from Sandbach from the off, Kyran Davies combining with Rai Bennett. Greg Wilkes playing well at full back and Sandbach’s forwards playing well in the line outs.
Tom Maydew making nice runs down the wings, an amazing kick from a penalty by Rai Bennett. Again, Jimmy Bebbington making nice runs and Jarvis Joyce making nice tackles – and overall Sandbach using the advantage well to make ground.
Significant technical and vocal support from Stockport for Paul Cooke’s refereeing!
Matt Hopton playing well in the rucks and malls. Tom Hilditch, playing for Stockport, scored to make it 7-0. Nick Wellings doing his job in the line outs and Matt Hopton making a great push - again Sandbach desperate to score. Stockport forced to put the ball down on their own line and a great try by Kyran Davies, who also converted to make it 7-7

Tom Hillditch; Matty Murray; (Both had storming games for STOCKPORT!!!!) and, whilst it was great to see Tom Hilditch score his first competive try having only joined us at the start of the season, it may take him a few years to be forgiven for the fact that it was for the opposition!
