Macclesfield 10 - Sandbach 17 Sat 16 October 99 Sandbach started the match with determination but also a lack of urgency. As a result, errors were costing dear and they spent the first quarter of the match defending. A try was conceded before Sandbach were able to show their full potential. Good play by Macclesfield following the first pressure exerted by Sandbach, saw them go ahead by a further try. Sandbach knew that they needed to score in the first half to give them a chance of winning. Greater effort by forwards and backs alike gave Sandbach a fine try right on the half-time whistle. The second half saw Sandbach in a different mood. They dominated throughout, taking most of the good ball available. A further try and penalty sealed the match.
