Glossop 15 - Sandbach 25 Sun 7 January 2001 Played at Macclesfield - Glossop 15 - Sandbach 25 Another 3 way tournament, but fortunately Macclesfield have a big enough ground for separate pitches for U7's & U8's, so not too much standing around getting cold. Sandbach fielded 3 players from the first match, which then allowed all the other players from the squad to play this second game. Sandbach always looked to have the upper hand in this game with the Glossop side not quite having the pace of the earlier Macclesfield opponents, and therefore we were able to find space more easily. This was a good performance by a Sandbach side, which contained a majority of new first year players, and shows that the squad as a whole is steadily improving. Notable were first tries this season for two of the newer players, which will boost their confidence for the remaining games. Try scorers: Robinson (3), Johnson, Moss. Derek Jepson
