On a great morning for flowing rugby at Bradwall Road, Sandbach knew that they would have to step up their game against the team that last year knocked them out of the Cheshire cup.
Wilmslow are a strong, well organised team and unfortunately for the Sandbach supporters they were also the only team to show up!!
Their superior support play, combined with accurate passing and higher intensity in the loose put Sandbach on the back foot from the first few minutes of the game.
The Sandbach boys will and can play better than this, but this should not distract from a Wilmslow squad that again will be amongst the best in Cheshire during the 2012/13 season.
To pull a few positives from a bad performance, both Harry Dyson and Lawrence Emery showed the backs how the tackles should be made, even when the waves of play keep coming at you. A number of the forwards battled throughout the game and Danny was rewarded with the sole Sandbach score. Sandbach can take credit from battling to the end and never giving up, but we must have 15 boys on the pitch that play with equal desire and commitment, we must also work on our support play. Thanks to Wilmslow for a challenging fixture and good luck for the remainder of the season.
