Sandbach 40 - Congleton 15 Sun 4 February 2001 A comfortable victory against a visiting side struggling for numbers and made up of a mixture of U7?s & U8?s. Congleton only occasionally posed any difficulties for the home team, which allowed Sandbach to put on a good display of open rugby with all members of the squad working well together to put in a good first half team performance. From a half time score of 20 - 5, Sandbach sensed a comfortable victory and the final score also suggested this. In reality the team began to coast and lost some of its focus, allowing the visitors to score two simple tries. Fortunately, the team normally shows more concentration when the match is close fought, and they will need this as the season progresses towards the Cheshire Cup.
