On another beautiful morning we welcomed Wilmslow to Bradwell Road. The game was entertaining from start to finish with both sides trying to play expansive attacking rugby.
Sandbach had the majority of the possession in the early stages but a very well organised Wilmslow defence kept us at bay. Eventually from a line out deep in Wilmslows 22 Sandbach won the ball and Ben (The Bull) Gittins powered over to score the first points of the game. When it looked like Sandbach would extend their lead Wilmslow broke free and scored a converted. Right on the stroke of half time Sandbach re took the lead with Finn (the cow man) scoring a converted try to make the score 12 – 7.
Early in the second half Sandbach scored 2 quick tries with the Bull and George (iron man) Owen’s scoring 2 well worked tries.
Wilmslow pulled a try back before James (the tank) Tse broke free and powered through to score under the posts. From the resulting restart Wilmslow scored a converted try which was the last play of the game, the Final score was 31 -19.
All players and even the referee contributed to a very enjoyable game of rugby.
