Sandbach 46 - Winnington Park 0 Sun 6 January 2013 Our first game of the 2013 saw us entertain Winnington Park on a mild January morning.  The game started with the Sandbach pack on top and after a succession of forward drives Sam scored the opening try in the corner. Two further tries soon followed scored by Alex and George Owen. Winnington defended stoutly but further first half tries were scored by Pembo and Alex. The half time score was 31-0.Both teams made a number of changes at half time and due to Winnington having an inexperienced front row the scrums became uncontested.During the second half Winnington retained possession much better and they put the Sandbach defence under much more pressure, but the lads in green refused to let them cross the try line.  After withstanding this pressure Sandbach scored 3 more tries via Ben, Tom and Alex. The final score was 46-0.Good start to the new year let’s hope the good performances continue.
