Sandbach 41 - Trafford MV 7 Sun 13 January 2013 First major decision was to decide if the pitch was playable after a sharp frost, but with the sun out the correct decision was made and the game went ahead.Playing on a larger pitch than usual, the Sandbach backs enjoyed a good day. The first points been scored by Louie after just 5 minutes following  a some excellent handling by the backs, Alex then scored the first of his 2 tries by breaking the Trafford back line and scoring untouched between the posts. Sandbach continued to dominate the half with Alex scoring his second and Louie scoring after a solid scrum by the forwards which allowed the backs to move the ball the full width of the pitch, good  simple rugby by the Sandbach  lads who all contributed to some entertaining rugby. Dead eye Bordill converted 2 of the first half which meant the score was 24-0 at half time.Full credit to Trafford for their second half performance, they competed and won the majority of the rucks. Sandbach did extend their lead after ignoring coach Alexs call with Ben scoring in the corner.With both teams tiring George Owen scored an opportunist to round of a super individual performance.  With 3 minutes left Trafford scored a deserved try which was converted.  From the restart Sandbach won possession and the ball was fed to the whippet Ward to score with the final play of the game. Dead eye again converted 2 of our tries to give the final score Sandbach 41 Trafford  7.Good game of rugby some very good performances from players of both sides.
