Sedgley Park 19 - Sandbach 16 Wed 15 November 2000 In a closely fought Cheshire Senior Colts League match last night at Sedgley Park, Sandbach were unlucky to lose by 19 points to 16. It was a close match throughout. Sedgley Park established an early 7-0 lead before Matt Stanway replied for Sandbach with a try that he converted himself to level the scores and then added two penalties to nudge Sandbach ahead at 7-13. However just before half time Sedgley Park managed an unconverted try to bring the half time score to 12-13. Early in the second half Matt Stanway added a further penalty to take Sandbach further ahead. It seemed that Sandbach would sneak an away win however Sedgley Park rallied and came back strongly in the dying minutes of the game. Despite concerted defence Sandbach could not keep their hosts at bay as with just ten minutes to go Sedgley Park scored a further converted try to bring the full time score to 19-16 in their favour.
